Húsavík-Ásbyrgi-Kópasker (Earthquake Center) : 9+ hours

Húsavík is known as the capital of whale watching in Iceland. We drive form Akureyri through the valley of Kaldakinn to Húsavik where you go on board an oak boat and sail around Skjálfandi bay and enjoy the whales. Then we go to Ásbyrgi, which is the most northerly part of the National Park Jökulsárglúfur, and see the 3 ½ km long canyon and up to 100 m high walls.
In Kópasker we go to the Earthquake Center where we see an exhibition about an earthquake that took place 13 January 1967 and was 6,3 Richter.
